WA: Woman recovering after serious assault in Bayswater
PERTH, Dec 24 AAP - A Perth woman is recovering in hospital after an assault which
forced doctors to briefly put her in an induced coma.
Police say at 9.30pm (WDT) last night the 38-year-old woman was drinking at a park
in her suburb of Bayswater, in Perth's eastern suburbs, when she was attacked.
"She was beaten up and sexually assaulted and was taken to hospital ... she has recovered
to a certain extent now and the injuries are not considered life threatening," a police
spokesman said.
The woman's head injuries were initially considered so serious that she was placed
in an induced coma, although she is now conscious again, the spokesman said.
Police have not yet charged anyone over the incident.
Morley detectives are continuing their investigations.
